Reveal or not reveal..

Wednesday, December 06, 2006 | wardah bajrai

For the past few days, some malaysians particularly women were outraged with the new rule set up by kelantanese authority : wear decent clothes or u will be slapped with RM 500 fine. The reason behind this new ruling is to protect women's virtue. A quotation from the authority:

"A woman who wears an indecent outfit does not respect herself, so how can she expect men to respect her"

Numbers of women were angry hearing this as they said this action is violating people's right. Is it?! what rights are we talking about. should we allow if the people want to make nudity as their personal right?! Just imagine, a nude walking along our street and when we scold him/her; the answer is "its my right and u cannot violate it!". So, how about that?

I shall example this issue with this situation:

"why do people keep their money in wallets instead of walking about with it openly?" the answer: "because cash is something precious, just like woman's virtue". its true. i'm not against people who dress according to their will but everything should have limit right. Although some people see this action as against woman's right but every action has its own reason and i consider the reason given is relevant. there's nothing wrong to be fashionable but as i said, do it and at the same time you must abide the law.

:: what my friend said on this issue::

menggalakkan org utk menutup aurat, and some more boleh kurangkan sexual harrassment and tak menyakitkan mata

Some people may think that the more a woman covers, the less freedom she has. But, according to Muslim tradition, it is actually the opposite. The less she wears, the more she is degraded and the more she is put in the line of fire of male criticism.when a woman is covered, men cannot judge her by her appearance but are forced to evaluate her by her personality, character, and morals.I am astonished at the behaviour of some women who claim to want "freedom". She can't understand how going topless, for example, represents equality. "People have to understand that males and females are not equal in body image but we should be equal in rights, in justice. Taking off your shirt will not make you equal to a man; it'll make you lower. Why? Because the woman's body is created differently."

The truth is that Muslim women only cover themselves in front of men who are not direct relatives (brothers, fathers, and uncles) to prevent indecent acts or thoughts. You feel modest...and you feel like you're covered up. You have more self-respect. You have more confidence in yourself that you don't need to care about (how) you look." however, bear in mind that just because a woman covers, doesn't mean she is automatically entitled to respect, or has already proven the worth of her mind. Respect must be earned regardless of one's appearance and it is not earned through a dress code alone." Depend on what persepctive you view this issue. Different people different opinion and i have shared mine so i rest my case..

::Another view (female friend)::

pade i, ayat "buat ape pakai tudung, kalau tak ikhlas pakai, sama mcm tak pakai, baik tak yah pakai' takleh diguna pakai sbb pakai tudung adalah wajib..kalau mcm tu bolehla kite cakap 'buat ape sembahyang kalau tak ikhlas, baik takyah sembahyang' pun mmg wajib utk wanita tutup aurat, samala mcm kite wajib sembahyang..ikhlas tak ikhlas, itu antar org tu dgn Allah

i'm back..

Monday, November 20, 2006 | wardah bajrai

i got a comment from my fellow friend asking me to update my blog and being a good friend, i took her 'warning' seriously' and, here i am, updating my blog after.... i don't know how long since i posted my last entry. I never forgot this blog, really, but the truth is I also got another blog which i updated quite frequently. But, after being 'sound' by this friend, i think its about time for me to write again.. However, what shall i write?! For the past few months,I haven't got any interesting story to write about. I'm still unemployed fellow who is still searching for fun in life (as now my life is quite dull) and I believe this sitution will last until end of this year. I'm tired of waiting, Really feel tedious and useless

Ok, stop talking about that boring stuff. Actually, i do have some story to share... and photos as well...

Last week, my sister and I got the opportunity to take (which I shall call)as an 'independent trip'to singapore. just two of us (without our parents). this was my first trip to other country without my parent tagging around. hurrah!! freedom!! after sooo many months wasting my time at home, finally i could breathing in new environment. when my cousins heard about our coming, she planned soo many activities (of course some activities and i am 100% sure that my parents would't approve if they were to follow). and as planned, my days in singapore were filled with exhilarating moments. we went out almost every night, ate various kinds of foods, chill at differnt spot and soo many things. i went there for 5 days and that 5 days were the greatest. i hope that i could take another trip again, but this time around to another country and yes, without my parents (hahahaha--evil side of me)

Siti……love her, hate her….

Wednesday, August 23, 2006 | wardah bajrai

Finally, she becomes datin siti – although she insists to call her siti only. I know people already tired and irritated whenever a story about this girl-turn-to-be-woman occurred in the paper but being the most popular figure in Malaysia, her story is like a hot-soup. Try this, whenever you see her story in the paper you will start mumbling ---lagi-lagi dia ni, tak de muka lain lagi ke, or orang lain pun kawin jugak tapi tak de lah over macam ni, and perhaps , nak naik kereta kuda la plak..over betul------ but still we will read her story till the end. As for me, I used to be her fan, I adore her sweet voice and her pretty face and now, honestly I still do know whether to like her or hate her. I heard a lot of rumours accusing her as family wrecker and whenever I heard these rumours I will begin to hate her but whenever I see her on tv, the hate gone just like that. Her face is so innocent (my sister gonna kill me if she read this! as she despises siti a lot!) plus, RTM keeps re-running a video clip of her singing dealova song (I know this song because of her). That song is fantastic and she sang the song superbly. So, I can’t hate her but I also could not like her the way I like her before. But one thing for sure, I really, really, really love her outfit where she wore during the akad nikah ceremony. Seriously, its beautiful!

Mountain Story - An interesting short story

Tuesday, August 01, 2006 | wardah bajrai

"A son and his father were walking on the mountains.
Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"
And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"
The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"
He receives the answer: "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a champion!"
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.
This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;
Life will give you back everything you have given to it."

This inspiring poem was taken from a Syrian book.

Sunday, July 30, 2006 | wardah bajrai

"Jerusalem will remain Arab, and will remain the light of freedom

Our nation's flag will be flown high, in spite of barbarism

Above her summits, in spite of [all] trials

Above her hills, over [all] times

The Arab people will liberate her, and eliminate the usurper's existence

And return her smile to her, so she shall become a lighthouse for every proud [man]

For Jerusalem is ours, in spite of [all] trials

Jerusalem is ours, over [all] times

All the children shout, in a roaring and a loud voice:

Jerusalem has been our nation's, and she will remain [so] for generations

Jerusalem is ours, in spite of [all] trials

Jerusalem is ours, over [all] times."

wake-up call

| wardah bajrai

I have had enough talking about football. The season has ended and left as history. Through the season, I became so ignorant towards other stories and events that happened around the globe. As usual, to fill my extra free time, I take a further step by strengthening my relationship with the television. Besides wasting my time and tears(sometimes ok!!) watching drama-and-emotion-filled telenovela, I spare a little minutes from my precious time to watch news (although I do read newspaper rigorously) and the news that watched that evening was really a wake-up call for me. The reports on how the Israelis (the cold-blooded murderer which will be known as ‘the devil’ hereafter) raided and attacked the Holy Land of Palestine and Lebanon – non-stop - and then killed countless of Palestinians and Lebanese in order to ‘defense’ themselves from Hizbollah and Hamas (that’s what they said and agreed by their allies). What a stupid reasons but still there are “stupiders” (a term I invented for people who support the devil) out there who support them and saying that the devil has the right to do what the have done on the innocents people particularly the arabs. These stupiders also can be known as the dumb@$$!!. It’s really hard to see how these people( Palestinians and Lebanese) are suffering days and nights with the world only watching them without doing anything (including us). We keep saying our curses, blaming the devils but besides that, what else that we do? The same question that I asked myself. I can pray for them but as I am a person without any power, I can’t do nothing while these genocide and massacre continue and the number of people who died keep escalating! This issue has triggered me to learn more about the root to this never-ended war. I began to open books about Jews and Palestinians and googled for any relevant information. I tried to dig out as many info that I could to help me to comprehend the situation better. I begin to understand the history of Jerusalem- a sacred place for three religions: Islam, Christian and Judaism. I follow its’ trail and realized that this problem rooted hundreds years back and today, the history continue and what happened today is just the prolongation. For me, the devil a.k.a the Israelis are the real terrorist in this world, besides their so-called loyal allies- the US and Britain.

"Israel is the enemy of peace. It believes only in the logic of oppressive force. It relies only on weapons." (President Hafez Assad of Syria). They are the most vicious and most dangerous form of colonialist imperialism also consider as the enemy of peace. Israel has done evil and has been overtaken by illusion. Arrogance has filled the heads of its leaders, which made them continue deep into crime and enjoy aggression. Black malice against the people and against humanity fills their hearts and they are possessed by thirst for bloodshed. Their moves are directed by contempt for the principles and ideals of humanity and for international laws and resolutions. They are most resembles a malignant and deadly cancer which has clung to one part of the heart of the Arab homeland – occupied Palestine – and then has tried to spread and thrive at the expense of the other parts of the Arab homeland and at the expense of the Arab nation as a whole.

You, the ones that shed my blood
That took away the light from my eyes...
That usurped the right of a peaceful people who did not commit a crime..."
(Modern Arab Literature)

"The Palestinian Arab generation that was born and grew up in tents and knew Palestine through the mothers' tears and the fathers' determination to recover the land, has sworn to liberate its land and restore the dignity of its [Palestinian] people and [Arab] nation. Our Palestinian brethren sacrificed their blood until the whole world heard their voice and became acquainted with their cause. They are still dying on the field of honor. Let us continue our struggle and then we shall liberate our Arab land and assert our dignity."

"Let your hands be clasped together, O our sons in the Golan, with the hands of your brethren, the Arabs of Palestine, because the enemy is one, because the road is one, because the goal is one, because [our] destiny is one, because [our] history is one. I salute you, O sons in the Golan, and salute your brethren, the Arabs of Palestine.

(This Sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat ) Note: Found on the Net, but without source or copyright information. Please contact if you have information

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you carefully and TAKE THIS WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (Interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived...

Beware of Satan, for your safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have right over you. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and comitted helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to commit adultery.

O People, listen to me in earnest, whorship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. You know that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. YOU ARE ALL EQUAL. NOBODY HAS SUPERIORITY OVER OTHER EXCEPT BY PIETY AND GOOD ACTION.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not astray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QUR'AN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me direcly. BE MY WITNESS O ALLAH THAT I HAVE CONVEYED YOUR MESSAGE TO YOUR PEOPLE."

::Totality of Islam::

| wardah bajrai

::Totality of Islam::

I haven’t finish reading the book however I think I could share some information that I found from this book particularly from chapter two. In chapter two, it talks in great detail about the totality of Islam, the meaning, the pillars and foundation of Islam and what Islam is all about. The author also provided informative story about the prophet Muhammad (s.a.w)- also in chapter two. After reading the first three chapters, I found that I began to understand about Islam better and I feel it is my obligation to share my knowledge with my sisters and brothers. I believe that great things should be shared. Even in Islam, we are encouraged to keep reminding others on what they may have forgotten and at the same time we also should constantly remind ourselves on what we may have forgotten as well. Below I will put an excerpt taken from chapter two about Islam what Islam is all about. The title for chapter two is “Totality of Islam”.

- Islam is not a religion in the common, distorted meaning of the word, confining itself to the private life of man. It is a complete way of life, catering for all walks of life- individual and social, material and moral, economic and political, legal and cultural, national and international. Islam is ‘not merely a religion’. It is a total and unified way of life, both religious and secular; it is a set of beliefs and a way of law; it is a culture and a civilization; it is an economic system and a way of doing business; it is a policy and a method of governance; it is a special sort of society and a way of running a family; it prescribes for inheritance and divorce, dress and etiquette, food and personal hygiene. It is a spiritual and human totality, this-worldly and other-worldly”

I hope after this, I could provide with more inputs based on the information that I will dig out from this interesting book.

The book….

| wardah bajrai

Last week, due to my extreme boringness, I spend hours in the book shelf at my house to search any book that I could read in order to fill my extra free time. This time around I tried not to go for fiction books as most of it I have finished reading it and some I even had read twice. Therefore, this time around, I opened my options by looking at informational books section. There was one book that frequently caught my attention before this but I don’t bother to read it because 1) it was published in 1976 2) when I glanced through the pages, it has font 9- too small and congested and 3) the title seemed profound. But that day, I didn’t know why I became so interested to explore more about that book. And once I started reading it, I was stuck to it- until today. Well, it’s hard to finish the book as 1) the font is too small and I need to read carefully (2) the vocab used- fairly bombastic which makes me referring to the dictionary quite often (3) the topics discussed were relatively heavy and historical. So what’s the title of the book------ don’t be surprised------- “Militant Islam” by G.H. Jansen. At the cover of the book, as introduction, its’ written “an informed and incisive analysis of Islam’s confrontation with the western world today” . looking forward to finished it!

Below, I enclose the picture of the book.

My inspiration- The Greatest Player so far…

Monday, July 10, 2006 | wardah bajrai

To be honest, I could hardly remember when and how I became so passionate and enthusiast about football but one thing for sure, the person who managed to trigger my interest towards this game is no one else but Zinadine Yazid Zidane, a son of Algerian immigrants who just retired from his profession after the WC ended. Zidane is an ordinary person with positive demeanor but undoubtedly, he managed to steal people’s heart with his skills and wittiness while playing. He dribbled the ball beautifully, passing it almost always accurately, tricked his opponents with his skillful techniques and proud his supporters with his majestic goals. When I first saw his match, I was smitten by his movements. Since that, I know that I will favor this man as my hero and I know I will be he’s strongest and most loyal fan. It’s not a secret to most of my friends on how much I like this guy and to make things more extreme, he became my inspiration while doing my assignments, not once but twice. I don’t know why I like so much about this soft-spoken guy but I believe that his great attitude that win my heart.

But every great show will have it’s end. This year WC is the last tournament for him as he will retired at the end of it. He did once, but he made a come back and helped his country to reach the final although they did not win and he did a mistake at the end, he still a greatest player so far. As now I’m a jobless person who did nothing except the regulars house chores and watching tv, I managed to catch some games in the WC and being an extra hardcore fan of France, I had never missed any of their match. Since the beginning of the tournament, I have feelings that France going to make it to the final although most of the people doubted it as they labeled them as ‘kuda tua’’s team – a tag that I strongly disagree. Although they did not win the WC, I know they had played at their best and for Zidane, I’ve never regretted and blamed him for what he did to Matterazi (I detest this man so much!!!) for I believe he had his own reason for doing that. Everyone has their limits, and I believe this fellow had surpassed Zidane’s patience and walah, he deserved that! and to all my friends, thank you for comforting me and supporting me when I was really down at France’s defeat. Above all, as expected Zidane managed to secure his place as FIFA WC’s Best Player and undoubtedly, he deserve it as he has inspired so many people around the globe for a decade. After this, we could never see his glimpse in WC anymore but one thing for sure, his spirit will always remain. As for me, this WC could be last one for me as well as I don’t think that I’m going to watch the WC again but if I do watch, one thing for sure, I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER EVER support Italy!!

(although the title a bit harsh, but it goes the other way round)

**** next entry, I will post the excerpt of my assignment (during writing class) about my hero….

Men really are from Mars.

Tuesday, July 04, 2006 | wardah bajrai

I took this interesting story from local newspaper as I found the content was rather appealing.

A wife diary: Sunday night – he’s been acting so weird. We had made plans to meet for coffee. I had been shopping with my friends all day long and was late getting to the cafĂ©; that’s what I thought he was upset about , but he made no comments. Conversation wasn’t flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk; he agreed but he was still quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong; he said, “nothing”. I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry. On the way home, I told him that I loved him- he simply smiled and kept driving! Why didn’t he say “I love you too?”! when we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched TV; he seemed so distant. Finally, I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he finally came to bed. I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation………….but he had fallen asleep. I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don’t know what to do. I’m almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

Husband’s diary: Today, England lost the match. DAMN IT!

What I could sum up from the story above that women always think critically – although sometimes it’s nothing!- and men : they are just hard to understand!

Germany vs Costa Rica

Saturday, June 10, 2006 | wardah bajrai

I can’t remember since when I became a big fan of Football but for sure World Cup 2006 is much awaited by me. Furthermore as a hardcore fan of France, there is a tickle of hope that France going to repeat their glory in 1998 although from an informal survey that I’ve made, France is not a favourite compared to Brazil and England (huh!). well put aside France for a little while as they only begin their journey on June 13.

The other night, I managed to catch the opening match between Germany and Costa Rica. What a fantastic game as Germany managed to earn their first goal as early as 6min after the game began. But suprisely I was not happy although before the game began, I always supported Germany as they got the two best Bayern Munich players (Micheal Ballack and Oliver Kahn) but since these two players were not in the opening match, my support changed to Costa Rica. Believe me, I tried to shifted back my support to Germany as after France and Brazil, Germany comes next as my favourite team but I failed to do so as I could see how Costa Rica players played with determination( Wanchope especially- as he got 2 personal goals for Costa Rica). In min 16, Wanchope managed to level the score, and I, jumped with joy. At the end, as expected, Germany won with 4-2. Not a huge margin though and Ballack, I could see him jumping and smiling- I could see this as the cameraman kept focusing on him (I have to admit that he is a cute chap).

Overall, I could see that Germany got better formation and most of the time they controlled the ball and they did several dangerous attacks but Costa Ricans, they too played very well- beyond expectation to be true since based on FIFA world ranking, their place is at 26 and they only been playing in the world cup twice- 1990 and 2002. Well, it seemed that not only men got infected with this dangerous world cup’s fever and I can’t wait to see France against Switzerland this 13th.

Cerita kami..

Bersama kami berkelana,

Bersama kami menaiki bahtera,

my dad asked me to write something in order to fill my boring days. i have to agree with him but what shall i write? i'm not as witty or brilliant as jane austen nor sidney sheldon but i do love to write. when i write, i feel free, i fell independent and i feel like i could throw out all my thought without any fear or regret. my lecturer used to say that, before we die, we should have at least a book that we write. i agree with him too. the truth is i dunno... simply dunno..

last year, during the writing class, my lecturer instrcuted us to write on your opinion about writing and we need to pass-up before the class end. so guest what i wrote... i said " i love to write but i prefer to write accordding to my pace, not being instructed by others //(i don't know what she thinks while reading my piece>
